There is such a freedom in working in my sketchbook. The intention there is never to share these works, to keep them private and sacred. And because there is such freedom in the pages of these private art journals I often create works that rank among my favorites and so from time to time I will share those works with you here, as prints, for you to enjoy as well.

The purpose of much of this work is to confront the white beauty ideal. Many of these works are not necessarily “finished” artworks and I think that is what I like about them most, the ability to look at them and see future possibilities, their imperfection, and so consequently unfinished here is finished, as are all humans.
